Here is another spy shot of the Sony Ericsson Paris. This time, showing the phone with the keypad slid open. No word yet on availability.

It uses the same operating principle as the P1 and the M600, with two letters assigned to each side of each button; on the Paris, the buttons appear to be half black and half white.

According to sources, the Sony Ericsson Paris will feature “touchscreen display (capacitive, it seems), a semi-QWERTY keypad in the same vein as the M600 and P1, WiFi, 3G (maybe in a global flavor for once?), GPS, and preinstalled Google Maps, all sitting atop UIQ 3.3.”

Here is a first look at the Sony Ericsson P5 (Paris) slider phone. It supposedly “runs Symbian UIQ 3.3 and has quite a large screen.”

Below the screen will be a P1-style keyboard, meaning two letters per key. That’s pretty much all we know, except for a supposed May announcement and September release.

Yes, a sharp eyed consumer managed to snap a picture of this Sony Ericsson K850 poster at “an actual retail location, not deep in an AT&T workshop somewhere .”

Several sources at AT&T stores have told us that they’ve been commanded by corporate to toss their K850 promotional materials in the trash. Doesn’t sound like a good sign, and if the device is indeed canceled, we think it’s a tragedy both for AT&T and for Sony Ericsson’s North American presence

We believe the Sony Ericsson K850 lives up to the responsibility of being a landmark product in the company portfolio. With rich camera settings, the K850 comes incredibly close to stand-alone digital cameras. The novelties in navigation suggest the K850 will not resort to simply being an upgrade to older Cyber-shot handsets and will be aiming beyond the brand-loyal consumers. However, the first 5 megapixel Cyber-shot will be forced to handle a lot of pressure.
